PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing slip of a strip is provided in which relative slipping movements are not generated to a preceding strip for the surface of a rotation roll supporting the strip so that welding defects and skewness caused by the strip slipping are prevented. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus proceeding or stopping a strip by comprising a lower rotation roll(10) which is rotated by being contacted with the lower surface of a strip(S) and forcibly driven by a driving motor, and an upper rotation roll(20) which is idly rotated by being contacted with the upper surface of the strip, the apparatus for preventing slip of the strip(S) further comprises electromagnets(22a,22b) which are integrally fixed to the internal shaft(10c) of the lower rotation roll(10) so that a north pole and a south pole are alternately formed on the outer surface of the lower rotation roll(10) in a length direction of the shaft(10c); and electromagnets(12a,12b) which are integrally fixed to the internal shaft(20c) of the upper rotation roll(20) so that polarities opposite to the electromagnets(22a,22b) of the lower rotation roll(10) are alternately formed on the outer surface of the upper rotation roll(20) in a length direction of the shaft(20c), wherein the electromagnets(12a,12b,22a,22b) receive a power source by being connected to a power supply part.
