The glider consists of a base made from upper (1) and lower (2) sections, the latter being of a supple synthetic material covered by a layer of low-friction film (5). The two sections are connected by a central pivot in line with the glider's axis of symmetry, and there is a cushion of an elastic material between them. The pivot comprises a peg on the upper section fitting into a hole in a rounded stud (8) on the lower section which acts as a ball joint.
