PREPARATION METHOD OF AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF ALUMINUM SULFATE USING WASTE CATALYST ALUMINA

PURPOSE: A method for preparing an aqueous solution of aluminum sulfate using the waste crystal alumina is provided, to remove the chlorine, color and odor of the waste alumina, thereby recycling the waste alumina effectively. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing the waste alumina (γ-AlOOH), 0.5-5 wt% of calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide based on the weight of the waste alumina, and water to prepare the alumina slurry where chlorine is removed; wet ball milling the slurry to pulverize the slurry into the powder with a size of 150 mesh or less; mixing the pulverized alumina mixture with 20-50% sulfuric acid to react them; and filtering the obtained product and re-filtering the filtered solution to remove the gypsum sludge with a slow reaction time.
