Production of soles for footwear comprises: (i) separating fibers from pieces of fabric to produce a low density cohesive mass of fibers; (ii) forming a mixture of 15-30 % of the fibers, a styrene-butadiene-styrene type thermoplastic elastomer and a plasticizer; and (iii) injecting the mixture into a mold to form a sole. An Independent claim is included for footwear, particularly slippers, having a sole made by the method of the claim.
