The invention relates to a rowing oar for normal advance in the line of vision of the rower for a boat driven by muscular force. According to the invention, the oar comprises a cylindrical body (1) provided with a handle (a) at one end and a triangular portion (b) at the other end and having two perforated ears (c) and a rectangular blade (2) with an enlarged portion at one end and two perforated ears (e) for being attached to the (b) portion of oar body (1) by means of a shaft (3) which, due to the blade configuration, permits a rotation by 90 degree of the blade (2) with respect to the triangular side (b), the minimum angle being formed when the oar is in the thrust position and the maximum angle being formed when the oar is in the hauling position, as result of the penetration of water between the two sides and the opening of the oar in the hauling position, and the oar being attached to the boat by means of a mobile annular collar (4) in the shape of a bearing not having the internal part of the housing.
