The invention relates to a method for packaging sterilized edible products and to a pressurized sealed container, said method consisting in introducing an edible product into a thin wall container in order to be sterilized, followed by introducing a predetermined quantity of an inert liquefied and solidified gas into said container; vaporizing the gas ;sealing the open end of the container, before the gas has completely vaporized, so that the pressure of the inert gas from the sealed container be sufficient to maintain rigid the walls of the container, and finally sterilizing the edible product and the container so that a pressurized sealed thin wall container (22) is formed, wherein at least one of the first and second closing members has a concave slope (21), relative to the inside of the container, at least one of the sealed ends (20) of the container having such thickness and shape that the ends will retain a concave slope (21) before, during and after the steps of sealed closing and sterilisation, but said slope becoming convex provided there is an additional gas pressure due to a bacterial action in the pressurized sealed container. |
