Sea-water is heated, using solar radiation, to a temperature below 100[deg] C. 100[deg] C is not required, as a vacuum is applied so that evaporation takes place at a lower temperature. The vapour thus produced is condensed in a heat exchanger, with seawater as the coolant. |
