The protective fascia consists of two or more straight or curved prefabricated modules (2) of basically square section, e.g. made from vibrated concrete, set horizontally and joined end-to-end. At least one end (5) of each module has a diagonally chamfered edge (6) to form a V-section groove with the adjacent module that can be filled with a sealing material such as an elastomer mastic.
