According to a method for compressing electronic handwriting, the handwriting is converted into digital data representing a sequence of points along a writing movement carried out by a writing tool. A given point (p(n)) is defined, for storage, relative to at least one previous point in the sequence. The given point (p(n)) is defined in a coordinate system (C(n)), the orientation of which is dependent upon at least one previous point (p(n-1), p(n-2), ,,,) in the sequence. |
