The cylinder consists of a housing (2) with two coaxial cylindrical walls (26, 27) containing a sliding guide piston (7), a rod (9) and annular piston (40) and a locking elements (41a). The annular piston has a recessed end (44) with cylindrical and conical (48) surfaces, of which the latter interacts with conical surfaces on the lock elements so that they move radially outwards when the piston applies a pressure to them.
