The waggon, consisting of two end platforms (2, 3) with bogies (4, 5) for rail travel and a pivoting support (6) to receive a road vehicle, has the end platforms connected by a low-level lengthwise mechanical coupling member (1). The lengthwise member runs under or in the floor (7) of the support (6), e.g. in a tunnel-shaped recess (9) or inside the support, and is connected to it by a temporary fastening.
