NOVEL TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR HAVING ZINC FINGER DOMAIN

摘要

By using an undifferentiated mouse CL6 cell line, differentiation into heart muscular cells is induced by adding DMSO and a gene fragment showing elevated expression immediately after the induction is obtained. The gene thus isolated has a zinc finger domain and shows a significant homology with an Sp1 family gene. Further, a human gene corresponding to this mouse gene is isolated. The protein encoded by this gene exists in nucleus and binds to GC-box. It is found out that this protein has a transcription regulatory activity of regulating the transcription activity of CMV promoter and thus serves as a transcription factor.
