INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE PRODUCING REDUCED EMISSIONS IN THE 360 DEG CYCLE

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine, top charged/discharged, which operates the working cycle in the time corresponding to a single crankshaft rotation, the gas exchange phases not being obtained by valve's openings, but by a rotating assembly communicating each cycle through a port with the inlet and discharge ducts. Discharge time is shortened by the reduction of the discharge pressure to a subatmospheric value by a new "discharge loop". The exhaust gases crossing the loop at high temperature are treated in new electrochemical/electrocatalitic reactors, which are energetically selfsubstaining. The engine employs the residual fuel energy, drawn from the exhaust gases for pollutent's reduction. Said new additional/substituting equipments allow the engine, which run the cycle with high efficiency, to be installed on vehicles - or utilized for other uses - being the only mechanical energy producer and assuring all the system the observance of strict pollution limits.
