A lockup clutch mechanism of a torque converter, wherein a brake lining is installed on a front cover so as to use a piston as a heating body, a cooling passage is formed in the piston on the inner peripheral side (on the rotating center side) of the face thereof opposed to the brake lining in order to effectively cool the piston by oil flow, and the oil inside a case flows from the outer peripheral side through an oil flow means and a heat capacity increasing means into the inner peripheral side cooling passage while effectively cooling the piston, whereby the piston is cooled effectively by the flow to expand a slip controllably operating area (area of transmission torque and slip rotating speed).
|
