PURPOSE: Provided is a fluorine-containing polyamide having excellent processability and transparency, low hygroscopic property and a low dielectric constant suitable for organic optical components. CONSTITUTION: The fluorine-containing polyamide has a logarithmic viscosity of 0.01 to 3.00 dL/g determined at 35 deg.C by dissolving 0.5 gram of the polyamide in hexamethyl phosphoric triamide. The fluorine-containing comprises a repeating unit represented by formula (4) formed by polycondensation of at least one diamine represented by (2) with at least one dicarboxylic acid derivative represented by formula (3). In the formulas (2) to (4), a(s) is identical or different from each other and each represents an integer of 0 to 4 whose total number is at least 1; R3(s) is identical or different from each other and each represents a monovalent group represented by the formula of CkF2k+1 (wherein k is an integer of 0 to 6); X1 is a halogen atom, hydroxy, methoxy or ethoxy; Ar3 is at least one group selected from the group consisting of a fused polycyclic aromatic group and a divalent group represented by formula (o) (wherein M(s) is identical or different from each other and each represents a direct bond or a divalent group; R4(s) is identical or different from each other and each represents a monovalent group; b is an integer of 0 to 2; and c(s) is identical or different from each other and each represents an integer of 0 to 4).
