Pyrazolopyridine compounds of the general formula (1) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof act specifically on Edg-5, which is sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor, and thus are useful as fibrosis remedies: (1) wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each C1-8 alkyl or the like; R<4> is hydrogen or the like; R<5> and R<6> are each independently hydrogen, C1-8 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy, halogeno, or the like; X is NH-, -O-, -CH2-, or the like; Y is NH- or the like; Z is CO- or the like; W is NH- or the like; and A is aryl, heteroaryl, or the like.
