An optical cable excess handling unit including a cable support and an interfacing connector provided in the center of the cable support, wherein the cable support has a first area for holding in advance the excess of an optical cable (5) at factory assembling, and a second area for holding, at on-site assembling, the excess of another optical cable to be connected via an interfacing connector to an end of the optical cable held in the first area, an interfacing connector being provided at the boundary between the first and second areas.
