A wireless data acquisition system (1a) comprises a slave wireless unit (2) provided on a device (1), a master wireless unit (5) for collecting data about the device (1) by wireless communicating with the slave wireless unit (2), and a center (10) for communicating with the master wireless unit (5) through a line (9). The master wireless unit (5) includes a control section (6) for controlling the operation of the master wireless unit (5), a data acquisition section (7) for collecting updated data from the outside of the master wireless unit (5) to change the operation of the control section (6), and a reprogramming section (8) for rewriting the control data that specify the operation of the control section (6) based on the updated data.
