PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which has excellent electromagnetic characteristics in the entire range of the recording wavelength and excellent mechanical characteristics, is suitable for recording of digital data and can be manufactured by a well-known technique and in which the problem of head saturation is not caused. SOLUTION: In the multi layered magnetic recording medium suitable for high recording density and digital recording, having excellent electromagnetic recording characteristics in the entire range of a recording wavelength, excellent mechanical characteristics, improved surface smoothness and flat frequency response, an upper side magnetic recording layer having <0.5 μm layer thickness and at least one lower side layer containing magnetically soft pigment are formed. |
