PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect musical performance data recorded in a personal computer, equipped with only a general serial communication means such as RS-232C, in real time by connecting the personal computer to an electronic musical instrument equipped with a serial communication means for an electronic musical instrument such as MIDI. SOLUTION: A sound source device is provided with both an RS-232C interface and a MIDI interface and musical performance data received from the MIDI (electronic musical instrument) are converted into data for RS232C (personal computer), which are sent out. The personal computer records the received musical performance data and echoes them back to the sound source. The sound source device generates a musical sound signal according to the echoed- back musical performance data. Consequently, it can be confirmed in real time whether or not the musical performance data inputted to and recorded in the personal computer are correct. |
