PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for certificate document application which can greatly increase security by carrying out authentication based upon fingerprint information different by individuals. SOLUTION: In a 1st mode of embodiment of this invention, a user terminal 1, an administrative institution terminal 2, and a distribution center terminal 3 are connected through the Internet 10, the user terminal 1 is provided with a fingerprint read means for reading fingerprint information different by individuals so as to authenticate an applicant, and when the read fingerprint information matches with fingerprint information previously registered in a fingerprint database 21, the applicant is identified; and application information for a certificate document is received from the user, and the requested certificate document is issued and distributed by the distribution center terminal 3 to the place and at the time that the user specifies. The user is therefore able to obtain the certificate document issued by the administrative instituted at home and the security can be increased through the authentication processing based upon the fingerprint information. |
