<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocoupler which can be reduced in size by protecting a lead frame against cracking due to spring back. SOLUTION: Two pairs of inner electrodes 2a, 2b and 3a, 3b are formed on one surface of an insulating substrate 1. Each pair is connected with a light emitting element 4 having an upper light emitting face 4a and a light receiving element 5 having an upper light receiving face 5a. The inner electrodes 2a, 2b and 3a, 3b are connected, respectively, with two pairs of outer electrodes 10a, 10b and 11a, 11b formed on the other side of the insulating substrate 1 through one half through holes 8a, 8b and 9a, 9b, respectively. Light emitted from the emission face 4a of the light emitting element 4 passes through a translucent resin 12 and arrives at the light receiving face 5a of the light receiving element 5 after reflecting twice on a substantially conical translucent resin 13 thus transmitting an optical signal.</p> |
