PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the needless movement of a lens barrel and to shorten a re-detecting time without making a camera larger. SOLUTION: This lens barrel is equipped with a fixed barrel 1 having a female helicoid 11, a 1st rotary barrel 5 having a male helicoid 51 screwed with the helicoid 11 and made shorter than the helicoid 11 in an optical axis direction, and capable of moving in the optical axis direction with respect to the barrel 1, and a position detecting switch 100 detecting the reference position of the barrel 5. The switch 100 has plural pins 1001 and 1002 detecting the position of the helicoid 51 being a part to be detected, and the pin 1001 detects the reference position of the barrel 5 according to the position of the helicoid 51 and the pin 1002 holds the detecting condition of the switch 100.
