PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballooning-preventing device for a weft yarn feeder, capable of reducing a frictional force with a yarn. SOLUTION: This ballooning-preventing device 10 is especially arranged in the downstream of a preliminarily measuring weft yarn feeder 1 of an air jet loom, and has a structural body 10 forming a cylindrical penetration cavity. The structural body 10 has substantially a truncated cone shape, and is constituted so that a rewinding yarn F fed from a feeder 1 may penetrate the structural body 10, and the pass of the yarn passing the cavity may be regulated by resisting the centrifugal force acting on the yarn. The structural body 10 is constituted of a basket with no bottom, comprising plural rods 11 arranged in the longitudinal direction of the penetration cavity on the periphery of the cavity at an interval angle, and two terminal rings 12 and 13 joined thereto.
