PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing device which can change a character font in the on screen display of a reproducing device without the need of much memory capacity and can correspond to the change of language in menu display. SOLUTION: Font data used in on screen display is stored in a rewritable and non-volatile flash memory 11. Font data for rewriting is taken in by a disk drive block or a communication circuit 16. Data which is fetched is temporarily stored in an SDRAM 12. The content of the flash memory 11 is rewritten in accordance with a program stored in the SDRAM 12 with data.
