PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying gradations of individual pixels. SOLUTION: The drive circuit for the display device of this invention is provided with a memory part 11 for storing pixel information expressed by n bits for each display pixel, a pulse generation circuit 13 for outputting at most 2n pieces of pulse signals differing in pulse width, a pulse signal selection circuit 14 which receives the pixel information stored in the memory part 11 and at most 2n pieces of the pulse signals outputted from the pulse generation circuit 13, selects one of the pulse signals for each display pixel based on the pixel information, and outputs it, and a driver circuit 15 for driving each display pixel for a period corresponding to the duration of the pulse outputted from the pulse signal selection circuit 14 for a prescribed display period.
