PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus by which a receiving system in the best reception state is selected in shortest time, after the power supply of the receiving apparatus is turned on, and which can reproduce received information by digital broadcast waves from the system in a digital broadcast system, in which the same program is transmitted by a plurality of systems of broadcast waves whose interleave amounts are different. SOLUTION: When the power supply of the receiving apparatus is turned on, the digital broadcast waves from a ground wave system whose interleave amount executed to transmitted data is smallest are selected, and the received information from the broadcast waves is reproduced and output. When the reception state of the broadcast waves is poor or after a prescribed time has elapsed since the power supply is turned on, the selection of the digital broadcast waves from the finally selected system, at a time when the power supply is turned off, whose reception state is considered to be best is switched over, and the received information is reproduced and output.
