PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system for precisely and repeatedly positioning various work stations in an electrophotographic printing machine. SOLUTION: The printing machine/copying machine is provided with a pair of drum supporting members 32 and 32' to support rotatably an image recording drum 12 and an image transfer drum 14. At least either of the drum supporting members is composed so that it can separate from the supported drum, and so that it can move to a position not acting as hindrance of exchange of the outer side layers 14 and 18 of the drum. The drum supporting member is provided with a clamp which can support bearings B1 and B3 of a shaft of the drum, and can release the bearings suitably. When the bearing of the shaft is released, the drum supporting member is slid along the drum shafts A1 and A3, and can move to the position apart from the shaft of the drum. Then, the drum supporting member is turned so as to separate from the drum shafts A1 and A3 to facilitate the maintenance and inspection and/or the exchange of the drum. |
