摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a variable power optical system having a vibration-proof function and obtaining a still picture by optically correcting the blur of a photographic image caused when the variable power optical system is vibrated, and to obtain optical equipment using the same. SOLUTION: This variable power optical system is provided with a 1st lens group having positive refractive power, a 2nd lens group having negative refractive power, a 3rd lens group having positive refractive power, a 4th lens group having negative refractive power, and a 5th lens group having positive refractive power in order from an object side. Variable power is performed by moving the 2nd lens group, the 4th lens group and the 5th lens group, and the blur of the photographic image caused when the variable power optical system is vibrated is corrected by moving the entire 3rd lens group in a perpendicular direction to an optical axis, then the maximum moving amount M5 of the 5th lens group to an infinity object at the time of the variable power and the focal distances (fw) and (ft) at the wide-angle end and the telephoto end of an entire system are respectively appropriately set.
