PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that eliminates electric charges charged on various filters placed between a photographing lens and an imaging device or a light receiving face of the imaging device so as to allow dust to be hardly deposited onto the fitters or the light receiving face thereby suppressing image quality of an image obtained by the imaging device from being deteriorated. SOLUTION: The digital camera 1 has a quick return mirror 23, a low pass filter 25a and an infrared ray absorbing filter 25b that are placed between an photographing lens 21 and a CCD area sensor 26, an ionizer 80 that generates ionized air, and a static electricity elimination button for initiating the drive of the ionizer 80. When an operator depresses the static electricity elimination button, the ionized air by the ionizer 80 eliminates electric charges charged on each of the filters 25a, 25b and a light receiving face 26a of a CCD area sensor 26. Since dust is hardly deposited on each of the filters 25a, 25b, the deterioration in the quality of an image obtained by the CCD area senor 26 can be suppressed.
