PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the torque output by improving a fuel combustion method in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A fuel combustion method of an internal combustion engine comprises taking the heated air into a cylinder chamber and injecting the water heated at a temperature more than a vaporization temperature under the compressed atmosphere into the cylinder chamber to expand the water as the steam, and heating the cylinder chamber to more than a temperature for vaporizing the water. By injecting the water heated to more than the vaporization temperature under the compressed atmosphere in the cylinder chamber, into the cylinder chamber with high pressure just before an explosion stroke, the water can be instantaneously vaporized, whereby the output torque can be increased by the steam expansion during a combustion stroke, and NOx in the exhaust can be reduced.
