PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent complication of the structure of and the manufacturing process for a disk-shaped commutator and further to enhance capability of preventing damages to the bosses of the commutator of counter commutation planar joint structure. SOLUTION: The disk-shaped commutator of counter commutation planar joint structure has a shape with the direct coupling portions of the bosses 3 at both the circumferential ends of axially extending portions 22 of metal pieces 2 present in conventional disk-shaped commutators of counter commutation planar joint structure being completely bifurcated by the axially extending portions 22 of the metal pieces 2, so that the outside portions 33 of the bosses 3 are coupled only at the coupling portions on the back side (inner radius side) of the axially extending portions 22 of the metal pieces 2. As a result, even if the axially extending portions 22 of the metal pieces 2 are extended in the axial direction by fusing welding and the outside portions 33 of the bosses 3 are pushed upward in the axial direction, the coupling portions 34, extending along the counter commutation plane-side end of the commutator pieces 1 on the back side of the axially extending portions 22 of the metal pieces 2, are deformed elastically and thus the bosses will not break.
