PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can solve problems in the error diffusion method and control the gamma characteristics of an output image. SOLUTION: A received pixel value is subjected to threshold value processing by using a corrected threshold Th(x) and the binarized pixel value is outputted. The corrected threshold Th(x) and the inverse of the corrected threshold Th(x) are multiplied by coefficients (a) and (b), respectively, the sum of the products is multiplied by a feedback coefficientβ, and the product is spread to thresholds of surrounding pixels. By changing the coefficients, a, b based on the result of the threshold processing, the gamma characteristics of the output image are controlled.
