PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing costs by simplifying connecting structure between a leader tape and a guide piece and also to reduce a resistance of a tape when the guide piece moves together with a catching body along the moving path within a tape drive, in a single reel type tape cartridge wherein the guide piece is provided at the delivery end of the leader tape. SOLUTION: The connecting part 10 of the leader tape 9 is reversed after winding and hanging it onto the pin 14 of the guide piece 13, a reversing part 11 of the leader tape 9 is melt-stuck on the tape surface in the state that the pin 14 is relatively rotated to the connecting part 10, and the leader tape 9 is connected to the guide piece 13. The leader tape 9 is connected to the guide piece 13 by merely melt-sticking the reversing part 11. A rapid change of posture the guide piece 13 when the guide piece 13 moves together with the catching body H along the moving path within the tape drive is mitigated by a relative rotation between the connecting part 10 and the pin 14. Thus, the moving resistance of the tape is reduced until the guide piece 13 is loaded on the reel.
