PROJECTION TYPE IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a device of a thin type which is high in resolution and high in light utilization efficiency in making color display with a single plate system image display device and a single plate system projection type image display device. SOLUTION: This device makes color display by introducing the respective color light rays of blue, green and red from light sources so as to illuminate the surfaces of light valves to a belt form by each of the respective color light rays and driving the light valves in compliance with the respective color signals adapted themselves to the illumination areas of the respective color light rays. The surfaces of the light valves are scanned with the color light rays from the light sources by each of the color light rays by means of a rotary polyhedral mirror, scanning lens and reflecting mirror.
