PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic storage device having a magnetic head slider that prevents surface wear of the magnetic head slider or a magnetic disk or both. SOLUTION: The magnetic storage device is loaded with a magnetic head and provided with a magnetic head slider 8 which is designed to have a recess 9, on the side face of the air flowing side of the magnetic head slider, or on the side face (side face in the vertical direction of the magnetic head slider) connected to those of the air flowing side and the magnetic head loaded side, or on both of these side faces.
