PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of securing the dust-proof performance, reducing the cost and accelerating the miniaturization. SOLUTION: A 2nd sirocco fan 53 is used in a state where a suction port is opposed to a projection lens 46, and the inlet port of an outside case is provided on the side surface part of the fan 53. Thus, dust or dirt is hardly sucked in comparison with the case the inlet port is provided at the bottom surface part and the upper surface part of the outside case, and the dust-proof performance is secured even without a filter. Since the filter is disused, the number of parts is reduced and the cost is reduced. Furthermore, the fan 53 is provided by utilizing the lower space of the lens 46 which easily becomes an excess space, so that the effective utilization of arrangement space is realized and the miniaturization of the projector 1 is accelerated.
