JAPANESE-STYLE BOW STRENGTHENED BY FIRING CARBONIZATION AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a Japanese-style bow of high performance that has not been heretofore, by improving the compressive strength of a bamboo material by improvement of the buckling strength thereof and by making use of the material thus improved. SOLUTION: By carbonizing an original bamboo material by firing, the density of bamboo fibers is improved and the buckling strength is improved due to aggregation of soft cell tissues. Thereby the compressive strength is improved.
