PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of red smoke in melting molten metal such as molten iron and molten steel being tapped. SOLUTION: A combustible fuel injection mechanism 6 is provided for injecting a combustible fuel above a molten iron ladle 5 upon the molten iron being tapped from a metal mixer truck 2 to the molten iron ladle 5, for example, from spray nozzles 10a to 10h of which mechanism the combustible fuel is injected toward a molten iron flow flowing down from the metal mixer truck 2. Since the molten iron flow is at high temperature, the combustible fuel fires as it approaches the molten iron flow. Its flame is injected into the molten iron ladle 5 to lower oxygen concentration in the molten iron pan 5. The oxygen concentration in the molten iron ladle 5 is detected with an oxygen concentration meter 12, and the detected value of the oxygen concentration is controlled such that it lies beyond 5% but below 12%, preferably beyond 5% but below 8% to suppress or prevent occurrence of red smoke.
