PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical receiver which requires neither electrical amplifier or a narrow bandwidth band-pass filter of an high Q value. SOLUTION: The optical receiver comprises a section 1 for branching an optical input signal into two and converting one of them into an electrical signal, a Mach-Zehnder interferometer 24 receiving the other optical signal branched at the converting section 1, an injection synchronous oscillation circuit 25 receiving an optical output signal from the Mach-Zehnder interferometer and oscillating a clock signal at a prescribed frequency, a retiming section 2, having an electric delay element 26 for regulating the phase of the clock signal, and a section 3 for identifying and regenerating a data signal obtained at the converting section 1, based on the clock signal obtained at the retiming section 2. |
