PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a color filter by a transfer system in which light reflected from a peelable layer and a substrate is inhibited from disturbing image information to enhance the accuracy of detection of defects such as foreign matter and irregular color in the defect inspection of a colored layer before transfer and only a non-defective colored layer is transferred to produce a color filter at a low cost. SOLUTION: A colored layer is transferred through: 1) a step for forming a transfer sheet, 2) a defect inspection step in which a) i-th (i=1 to n) light source-image input parts are disposed (the number of the parts is n) and b) image information from the i-th image input parts which receive i-th regularly reflected light and image information from image input parts which receive i-th irregularly reflected light are processed to specify the defective part of the colored layer and 3) a step for forming an adhesive layer, laying a transparent substrate thereon and carrying out pressure contact, irradiation with light, peeling and removal by alkali development. |
