PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup method and an image pickup device where an image display means with smaller number of pixels can confirm a focal state of an image picked up by a solid-state image pickup element with large number of pixels, focusing is manually conducted with high accuracy while confirming the entire image having no timing difference with a focusing image and furthermore the increase in the power consumption and the memory configuration can be minimized even in a composition display state. SOLUTION: A reduction circuit 111 decreases number of pixels of an image signal obtained by an image pickup element 108 to magnify the image signal at a prescribed magnification, a segmentation circuit 117 segments a prescribed area of the image from the image signal without decreasing the number of pixels, and a reduction circuit 11 synthesizes the magnified 1st image with the 2nd image segmented by the segmentation circuit 117 and displays a composited image on a monitor 121. |
