PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surplus soil treating method capable of treating the surplus soil or the like, generated in a construction site, at the site without conveying it to another place. SOLUTION: This surplus soil treating method includes a process for intruding a hollow casing 1 having an opening/closing means 5 opening or closing a tip opening section into the ground, a process for inserting the surplus 35 soil or the like into the casing 1, and a process for extracting the casing 1 from the ground.
