PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film substrate for a liquid crystal display element, wherein a warp of a transparent conductive film can be suppressed by canceling the stress due to elongation and contraction of the conductive film even if the film is elongated or contracted by heat in heat treatment and from which a high quality liquid crystal display element is assembled. SOLUTION: In the film substrate 1 for the liquid crystal display element, having the transparent conductive film 5 formed on one surface of a film base 2 consisting of a transparent polymer material, a reinforcing layer 6 consisting of a material having heat elongation and contracting characteristics nearly same as the transparent conductive film 5 is formed on the surface opposite to the one surface on which the transparent conductive film 5 of the film base 2 is formed.
