MOVING PICTURE DATA CODER, MOVING PICTURE DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND MOVING PICTURE DATA DECODER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture data decoder that can decode frames after a concerned frame even when an error takes place in the transmission of moving picture coded data resulting in disabling the concerned frame. SOLUTION: Frames whose time sequence is decided are divided into two groups, and coding data are generated by applying a prescribed inter-frame prediction coding algorithm to each group. A receiver side decodes the coded data by each group according to a decoding algorithm corresponding to the coding algorithm. On the occurrence of an error frame due to a communication error or the like, an image of a frame of other group is used when decoding a succeeding frame referencing the error frame in the group.
