PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality color liquid crystal display device having clear monochromatic display attained in an icon display part. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 21 consists of a dot matrix display part 22 and an icon display part 23. A data electrode 24 for icon display and a signal electrode 14 for the dot matrix display part are formed on a transparent substrate 9 and s reflection layer 16 and a color filter layer 17 are successively layered on a transparent substrate 10. The color filter layer 17 is divided into a color filter layer 17a of stripe array corresponding to the dot matrix display part 22 and a color filter layer 17b of delta array corresponding to the icon display part 23. A common electrode 26 for icon display and a scanning electrode 19 for the dot matrix part are formed on the color filter layer 17b and the color filter layer 17a, respectively.
