PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terry loom characterized by high reliability and comparatively good operability. SOLUTION: A pile warp sheet (15) is passed through devices (26; 28) for forming margins of pile warp yarns in the region in front of the crossing point with a warp sheet (1) in the yarn-traveling direction so that the device (26; 28) may compensate the lengths of the pile warp yarns at the time of the formation of the loops and/or the alternation of sheds.
