PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device and an image forming device capable of performing excellent heating processing through endurance by enhancing a cleaning effect when cleaning is performed by the use of a small size cleaning sheet in a device for performing zone heating. SOLUTION: In this image heating device, recording material carrying an image is held and carried by a nip between a heating member and a pressure member which are pressured to abut on each other, and the image on the recording material is processed to be heated by selecting the wideness of the heating area of the heating member in accordance with the size of the recording material. In the case of carrying the cleaning sheet to the nip and cleaning the pressure member, heating is performed by using the heating area wider than the cleaning sheet.
