PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of realizing lightening in weight and reduction in cost while maintaining the strength of an outside case. SOLUTION: As for the outside case 2 made of metal of this projector, its bottom surface part 221 and side surface part 222 are reinforced by a reinforcing member 25. Therefore, a lower case 22 can be made to have a thin wall while completely securing the strength of the lower case 22. Then, a height adjusting mechanism 7 is provided on the member 25 superior in terms of strength. Therefore, the periphery part of the mechanism 7 on the lower case 22 need not be made thick, so that the thinning of the lower case 22 is not hindered. Thus, the strength of the lower case 22 can be surely maintained, and lightening in weight and the reduction in cost can be realized by making the wall of the lower case 22 thin.
