PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the impact sound made by the hitting of a transmission gear on a stopper from being transmitted to a car body side through a shift linkage and making an abnormal sound when the gear is engaged in a transmission operating mechanism provided with a means to hang a rod constituting a shift linkage from the lower face of a car body. SOLUTION: A guide 31 is provided as a means to hang the rod 30 constituting the shift linkage from the lower face of the car body 39 so that the rod 30 is hung slidably in the vertical direction. The guide 31 is provided with a bushing 32 fitted to the external periphery of the rod 30, and a bracket 33 hanging the bushing 32 from the lower face of the car body 39. The bushing 32 is formed of synthetic resin. A lubricant pouring chamber 37 opening in the internal periphery of the bushing 32 to which the rod 30 is connected slidably is provided in the external periphery of the bushing 32.
